Variety Tasmania is proud to partner with Eastlands Shopping Centre in the south, Meadow Mews Plaza in the north and volunteers from the Department of Education’s Disability Program in running the Quiet Santa Program. These sensory friendly Santa sessions offer children with sensory challenges the chance to have some special one-on-one time with Santa in a peaceful and comfortable environment. Sessions are held outside of key trading hours, and every care is taken to make sure the child and their family feel calm, welcome and safe.

Many children who live with additional needs or disadvantage will never have the experience of attending the zoo, missing out on the enjoyment and learning experience. We are grateful to the team at Hobart Zoo and Aquarium in Richmond for introducing “Pay it Forward to Variety Kids” initiative, to ensure more kids don’t miss out on enjoying a day at the zoo with their family.
